The choice is entirely up to the wearer. Women’s nails will glisten and gleam with the most dramatic nail art; gold leaf, holographic foils, metallic, glitter and the simple but elegant and fun designs. If you’re doing it on your own (DIY) here’s how to do it:
• Prepare your nails by clipping it to the desired length, filling the clipped nails and pushing the cuticle gently to clean the nail base
• Spread over a very fine coat of foil Primer on your nail and allow it to dry until it is clear
• Place the foil back side down on the desired area, if the entire nail will be covered by the foil, start from the base of the nail
• Rub the foil securely against the nail and when the foil is firmly in place pull the foil strip off
For a more intricate nail foil design, let your manicurist do it for you. Here’s how she will do it:
• Your manicurist will let you choose the design that you prefer.
• She will use the brush from the adhesive bottle to apply the adhesive for large designs or design that will cover the entire nail
• For a more detailed design such as a mosaic design, she will apply the adhesive with a small detail brush on the areas of the nail where the design will be placed
• When the adhesive dries, she will apply the foil back side down, steadily press it down and lift the foil strip off to leave on the nail the gleaming tinted foil.
• When the mosaic design is desired, the process will be repeated with the preferred colors of foil until the preferred design is achieved.
• After the design is finished, she will apply a thick coat of sealer to protect the design.
• To achieve varying looks, she will apply different top coats on the design.
